Outlook for Android update with quick Skype call scheduling

Skype outlook android

Skype just turned 10 years old. The company is finally bringing video calling and group calls. Last December, Skype for Business went live for Android devices after several updates on managing conversations, sharing moments, filters to your video messages, Android Wear-integration, and more Material Design elements. This time, integration of Skype and Outlook is improved to make sure you can do more at once and be productive.

Since Microsoft acquired Skype, the software giant has been working hard on the instant messaging platform that’s still widely used especially in businesses and workplaces. If both Outlook and Skype are staples for your everyday work like, you’d be pleased to know that Skype and Outlook are more integrated than ever. This development allows you to be more productive at work, as well as, be able to keep up with family, friends, and colleagues.

On Outlook, you can now easily add a Skype call to a new event. You’ll see a Skype call link in the description of an event when viewing your calendar. This will easily launch Skype when the scheduled time of event or meeting arrives.

You can take advantage of some other improvements on Outlook including navigation and new views. Easier management of both personal and professional life is now possible while calendar now features improved navigation. There’s a two-week calendar, full month view, or three-day view so you can see upcoming events in one glance.

When it comes to navigation of Outlook for Android, it’s more swift now. Some sections like the Mail, Calendar, Files, and People have also been moved to the bottom of the app so they can reached easily by your thumb. Other changes within the app include Contact push, saving files, and seting automatic Replies as requested by frequent users.

Google I/O conference moving to a new location in Mountain View

GOOGLE IO conference 2016

The International CES may be over but it’s not the only important tech event to look forward to this 2016. Sometime in May, Google will be having its annual conference for developers. Google I/O is usually held in San Francisco but this year, it is set to happen in Mountain View at the Shoreline Amphitheater. This is the first time the conference is happening in a different venue since the first Google I/O back in 2008.

From Moscone Center, Google devs will head this year to the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. It’s still in California but very much closer to the company’s headquarters–just a stone’s throw away from Googleplex. It was Sundar Pichai, Google CEO himself, who made the announcement over Twitter of the change.

This year, the developer conference will be held on May 18 to 20. No mention of the topics yet and the focus for this year but we’re guessing discussions would center on more virtual reality and smart technologies including smart home devices and self-driving cars. Perhaps Google would be demonstrating a self-driving car from Googleplex to the Shoreline Amphitheater? Just a wild guess.

Interestingly, this year’s I/O 16 is actually the mark of the 10 year anniversary of the first Google developer event. Moscone Center can only seat over 6,000 people while Shoreline Amphitheater can accommodate about 22,500 participants. Google could be expecting more attendees this year too so we’ll see about that.
