MX Player updated, works better on Android 5.0 devices

There are lots digital media players available for Android but only a few can be considered fast, efficient, and reliable. MX Player is one of those that provide the best way to enjoy movies and the app has been updated recently to work better on some Android 5.0 devices. With the app update, online subtitle downloading and uploading are now supported.

This latest version of the MX Player also brings a new option to disable ‘playback interface auto hiding’. You can now delete or rename files on external store on Android 5.0 Lollipop and later. If you wish to set action for keyboard (DPad) up/down key, you can define it on Playback screen > Menu > Display > Settings > Touch. There’s an option for perform ff/rew on next/prev media buttons which you can set on Settings > Player > Next/Prev > FF/Rew.

Making MX Player impressive is the hardware acceleration feature that can be applied to videos with the nw HW+ decoder. The app also boasts of being the first Android video play to support multi-core decoding which is said to be 70% better than single-core devices.

MX Player app allows pinch to zoom and zoom and pan. Pinch and swipe across the screen to view a screen or image closely. Reading subtitle is easier because of the subtitle gestures. To change text size, zoom in or out. To move text up and down, scroll up/down. And to move to next or previous text, scroll forward/backward.

For parents who have kids, you can keep them entertained by letting them watch movies on the MX Player. The Kids Lock feature will not allow them to touch other apps or make calls.

MX Player can read various subtitle formats including DVD, DVB, SSA/ASS subtitle tracks, SAMI, SubRip, MicroDVD, VobSub, SubViewer2.0, MPL2, PowerDivX, TMPlayer, Teletext, PJS, and WebVTT.
